Filming Ainsley Costello’s “Little Sister” Music Video

Filmed in DCI 4K anamorphic (and spherical for certain shots) on FS7 Mark II, I used a Blackmagic Pro Mist 1/4 filter, as well as +1 and +2 diopters for close focusing. For Slog3 preview through the viewfinder, I used Phantom LUTs G12 Arri Neutral.

We filmed the TV sequence in spherical with a zoom lens (and added sparkle effects in post) to help make sure we didn’t upstage ourselves with the music video within the music video. This is the one time I’ve ever wanted a star filter.
Using a +1 diopter on the 50 mil.

Sunlight all day and night! That’s a Matthews junior stand with rocky mountain leg climbing the steps of Friday’s set, sandbagged for safety. A Rayzr 300w fresnel punches everlasting (and never-moving) sun through the window. It was supposed to rain that day, but I’m happy it didn’t. This is my g&e equipment made available by my production company Fifty Oars based in Sparta, TN, and local to Nashville.
A deleted shot. I decided we didn’t need to see the TV Ainsley’s hand reaching into the dreamer Ainsley’s room.
