Wrapped production on some filmed content for TopPT, an awesome faith-based physical therapy clinic, in Franklin, TN. Directing their commercials, I got to record testimonials by some great people, including one of my favorite people, Olympic Gold Medallist Scott Hamilton.

I decided to do the testimonials multicam, so I setup the FS7 as the main camera where talent would address the audience directly. The second camera, the a6400, was positioned to the right of talent, opposite the key light, and mounted to a motorized slider that gives an interesting parallax shift to the wide shot. Both cameras were routed to video village where I could monitor both cameras simultaneously on one screen. Each video and audio element are synced with its own Tentacle Sync E device.

The key light was a 600D at 15% through a 4×4’ artificial silk, matching the windows. Hair light was a Pavotube 30x at about half power, matching the practical flos. Bright and even lighting with a bit of modelling to take advantage of the friendly, open environment of the clinic. All the lighting support equipment is Matthews.

Setup required two hours, tear down required one. It took two seperate cart trips to bring gear in, two more to take the gear back out. I like my van organized, so each item of gear has its home in the van.

Filming commenced Thursday and Saturday. I took myself out to Olive Garden after Thursday’s shoot as I had been craving lasagna all week. After returning home on Saturday I made sure to get my van cleaned.

What a fun shoot with a cool client. Looking forward to editing this one.
