Nikon ZR

I personally own a Komodo-X, an OG Komodo, and now the ZR. Before my OG Komodo, I rocked an FS7-II since 2019 on every shoot. Even won a best cinematography award for a feature film I shot with it. Used many FX9s to shoot television specials and documentaries. I’ve also used every major RED camera since the One MX back in 2008 or 9. My Komodos have PL Speed Boosters and I have sets of PL aspherical primes and zooms, and anamorphic primes. I typically DP (and sometimes direct) narrative shorts, music videos, commercials, and the occasional feature. I need the ZR for small gimbal b-roll work with R3D color science for matching with the Komodos which typically run ELQ or LQ for most every non-VFX job. The ZR is a great C-cam for gimbal or with a PL mount on sticks, and it is a perfect B-cam to the KX if keeping both super lite with Z-mount lenses, or as an A-cam for smaller, faster projects. The ZR fits into my RED ecosystem just fine and I absolutely love it with or without it’s bigger cousins.
