Back to the Manger

DP/Gaffer: Jason R. Johnston
Shot on Red Raven with Xeen aspherical lenses in 1 day.

Back to the Manger is a fantasy-comedy parody of Back to the Future where an adventurous brother and sister duo are sent back in time to witness Jesus’ birth in exchange for helping a time-travelling scientist return home. This is a four-part series produced for TFC Kids which screened at The Family Church McAllen’s Sunday morning services on December 1, 8, 15, and 22, respectively, leading up to Christmas 2019. Filmed at Capernaum Studios, Poolville, Texas, in November 2019. Shot with Red Raven and Xeen lenses. I actually had a dual role on this project: I was both the director of photography, and also the actor who portrayed the Doc Brown-esque scientist.
