The Party at the End of the World

DP/Gaffer/Editor/Colorist: Jason R. Johnston
Director: Cristina M. Trevino
Shot on Canon EOS T2i with Canon aspherical lenses in 6 weeks.

In 2011 I worked as director of photography and editor on The Party at The End of The World, a raunchy comedic independent feature film written by, directed, and starring Cristina M. Treviño, and produced by Mar Motion Media and Impossible Films – with support from Orange Media Filmworks – for TPATEOTW Productions.

Party is about three friends who throw the last great celebration on the eve of December 21, 2012 believing the world will end the following day. During the unforgettable night they discover qualities about themselves they never intended to explore. But, if everyone is going to die tomorrow, why keep secrets anymore?

Photographed with my Canon EOS 550D/T2i and Canon EF lenses (mostly the 50mm f/1.8-II). Fictional “news” footage photographed with a Panasonic HPX300. The footage was transcoded from H.264 to Apple ProRes 422 Proxy and finished in Final Cut Studio. The Party at The End of The World was released December 20, 2011.
